I have owned this truck for 3 years. Every bit of maintenance has been kept up with the truck since day one of me owning it. I bought it off a lady who used it to haul trash, literally haul trash. That is all she did with it. (I have pictures from the day i bought it to prove). The 4wd had never been used. (she purchased it brand new in 2006 after her husband had passed away in cookeville). The truck, to this day has never once been driven in the brine or salt. It has absolutely no rust, none whatsoever. I refuse to drive it in the wintertime when there is brine or salt on the roads. The truck has been completely cared for.
When I bought the truck here are some of the things I did:
-All from 2006 The original tires, brakes, and shocks were replaced. I went with a Bilstein shock. 10-2021
-All fluids were replaced including front rear Diffs, Transfer case, and transmission with new trans filter all installed. Full Tune up as well at 100k miles early 2022
-It has a bed cover and bed mat that I purchased for it which will go with it. 10-2021
-New AC compressor installed 2023
-Within the last 8 months, it has new pads rotors drums and shoes
-Water pump was replaced because it had developed a leak in early 2024
- Oil changed every 4-5K miles
I have kept the truck as stock as possible with a few aftermarket parts for creature comforts. Keep in mind that all aftermarket electronics which were installed with the appropriate harnesses where factory vehicle wiring would not be tapped into or damaged. I will say again, none of the vehicle wiring was damaged or tapped.
- Updated Bluetooth stereo and door speakers ( I still have the original Stereo which worked when removed) all door panels were carefully and thoroughly installed back the correct way.
- Remote start installed Factory remotes as well as aftermarket remotes included.
- Car link cellular control is installed in the vehicle (controls vehicle via cell phone anywhere in the US)
- Wireless backup camera installed (this is the only aftermarket option that required me to tap one wire on the left rear tail light)
-brake box installed (using the appropriate harness which is a plug and play system)
I will end with this, this is a wonderful truck. It needs absolutely nothing and should need nothing in the foreseeable future. I have no doubt that this truck has another 100k miles and more left in its life.
Given all this information, I am asking $14,000 for the truck. In the Upper Cumberland, you will not find a “Used truck” with "No Rust" that some kid has not put big wheels on and a crappy lift kit who chopped the exhaust off and added a bunch of LED lights. The trucks needs nothing and is ready to go. It has been cared for and loved on. This is a True key start and go! In my opinion the GMT-800 series, years 1999-2006 GM trucks were the best trucks that GM ever produced given how simple and dependable they really were.
For example, These trucks are being priced online for $10,000 with 227k miles. I feel my asking price is an appropriate price, given the miles and condition.
