Expired Ad Romanov ram lamb $150
I have a Romanov ram lamb that is intact breeding stock. Listing him for a few weeks before neutering for grow out, Mother had triplets on her first pregnancy, this lamb has been bottlefed due to being born at midnight during our coldest night of below 0 in Jan, and got chilled/hypothermia and had to stay indoors for a week to recover so mother didnt recognize him after a week. His dam & sire where purchased from Barry Hain, a prior geneticist for the USDA and grandsires are from the US Meat Animal Research Center in Clay county Nebraska.
The ram lamb (nicknamed Lazarus) is not skiddish and he, his mother and all his siblings are easy to work with and will come up to you to check you out vs running to other side of pen. Currently 6 weeks old and still on a bottle along with feed and has spent 5 weeks living with the flock so as to properly imprint on sheep and not humans. I do also have another of the triplet rams I'd be willing to sell for same price as all 3 are very nice, but I am keeping on for a future breeding ram in my flock.
Romanov sheep are often used for cross breeding with meat sheep(Kat/dorper etc) as Roms are very hardy, have 2-6 lambs at a time, are good mothers, and produce a lot of milk. Due to being a pure breed, when crossed with meat sheep they get full hybrid vigor, passing on their increased lambing genetics and stronger milk production and their out of season breeding allowing you to increase yearly lamb yield with very resilient lambs.
