SOLD This trio of Bielefelder chickens consists of two hens and one rooster, all hatched in April 2024.

The breed originated in the German town of Bielefeld [Bee'-leh-feld]. It is a dual-purpose breed that's hardy and robust, slow maturing, excellent foragers, and awesomely beautiful. The roosters and hens differ in plumage color, even at the time they hatch, so males and females can easily be told apart from the get-go. The hens lay large brown eggs. Best of all, Bielefelders have a gentler temperament than most other chicken breeds. $50 for all three.
