Butternut Cutting Board $70

Silver Point, TN 55 miles away
back
These cutting boards are made entirely from Butternut hardwood. The "old timers" around here call it "white walnut". We begin the process by cutting to size all the pieces of butternut and the glue them together using Titebond II wood glue which is both water proof and food safe. Once that is done, we plane the boards to thickness and the cut the "juice grove" on our CNC router. We then bevel the underside edges of each board and then hand sand the boards once more before we hand rub a food safe mineral oil with beeswax onto the entire board. We then attach four rubber "feet" to the bottom of the boards with stainless steel screws. These rubber feet will keep the board from sliding on most kitchen surfaces. These cutting boards measure 18 inches in length x 12 inches x 1 1/2 inches thick. If you are looking for an "every day" cutting board that will stand up to that use, these butternut cutting boards will hold up to years of everyday use. We currently have six of these Butternut cutting boards available for sale. If interested, call and ask for Steve or leave a message and I'll call you back.
Wood grain patterns will always vary from one cutting board to the next which makes each board a unique and "one of a kind. Thanks for looking.

NOTE: We have many more unique items for sale that you can view at our shop buffalovalleyatelier.etsy.com. If you see something that you're interested in, you can call me and I'll give you a price quote for local pick-up which will be less than the listed prices.

As with any cutting board, it will need to have a food safe mineral oil applied to it every now and then. The more use it gets, the more often it needs to be re-oiled. And it goes without saying, never wash your wood cutting board in the dishwasher....that's a big no-no. Hand wash your boards with a mild dish washing detergent, do not submerse it in the sink and then rinse it and towel dry it. With just a little care, your cutting board will last for decades and probably your lifetime. We always re-oil any cutting board we sell before we ship it so you can be assured your cutting board will arrive ready to go straight out of the box.
