1975 Massey Fer 235 Diesel trade?
Cookeville, TN
back
1975 Massey Ferguson 235
2.5L 3 cylinder Perkins Diesel Engine
1026 hours showing on odometer and we have no reason to believe those aren’t actual..
Owned by 1 family(father& now son), here in Baxter. It was bought and originally used to help him and his brother grow and harvest tobacco all around Baxter and Silver Point.
They liked it so much they bought a second one and they still have it to this day. The son also owns a newer John Deere with cab over. He is retiring from almost all farming so the most he does these days is move hay from our other cousins trailer to his barn, then from barn to the hay pin for cows. He has no need for 3 tractors. He keeps the other MF for grading his and our very long gravel driveways
Its always been kept covered in a lean top barn, but as you can see by its condition it was used, and used for everything from bush hogging, to hauling hay, to tilling 1000s of gardens, tobacco farming, mowing, driveway scraping, anything and everything over the years.
Negatives: Starter(or wiring), and power steering pump, also has a wobble in front tires
It does run, however you have to pull it to start it, I’m looking into the wiring(we think it’s just a bad wire grounding out between the neutral switch and solenoid) worst case scenario it’s a bad starter, and bc it’s all American made of strong steel, America **** yeahhhh, Cookeville electric motor can rebuild it.
The power steering pump needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
Other than that it’s a great little tractor… and it’s not that little… it’s a workhorse!
This tractor puts out almost 50hp
The wheel base is 74.5”
The tractor is 116” long and 65” wide.
It comes in around 4k lbs.
If you were to just go out and buy a new starter & power-steering pump(good ones, not junk) you would be spending ~$250-300 and if you can install them yourself then you shouldn’t even have read this much into this ad. 😂
Tractors like this in great shape and all clean(idk why that matters. If I was buying a tractor this old and it looked brand new I would be worried more than excited…) go for 7-12,000…
This isn’t a perfect tractor but it’s not junk either. Perfect tractor to have around a small to medium farm, or to use every day… it will out work and out last any new tractor you buy guaranteed!!!
We are asking $3,500 obo
If I order and change out or have them rebuilt(the starter and power steering pump that is) I’ll be asking $4,500
Trade for small camper(bumper pull only), or zero turn mower, running vehicles, trailers(12-16’ flatbed, or 8-10’ enclosed, or anything else either even trade or trade plus cash my way.
