SOLD UPDATE: Both water pumps have been replaced, and radiator has been flushed and checked. Temp. gauge will go to H after driving and then idling for about 15 minutes. As soon as it starts moving again it cools down to normal very quickly. Temp. gauge goes halfway when it's moving. Does not get hot driving up mountains. I have checked it with an infrared thermometer and it has gotten up to 205 degrees after idling as mentioned above. I've driven it about 150 miles during the last couple of days had no problems and car is not boiling over. When checked with infrared thermometer after driving, temp. shows about 185-90 degrees. Nice 51 ford. Very solid car. No rust in floor pans or anywhere on the body except the very bottom at the back of the front fenders. I do have pics of these areas. It was originally green but was stripped to the metal and repainted black. It does need interior work. I've owned it since 2002 and driven it about 15,000 miles in that time. Flathead v8, overdrive transmission.The transmission is from a 49 or 50 Ford, but the non overdrive original transmission comes with it, and another 49-50 overdrive trans.The car has been converted to 12 volt, except radio and heater motor. Runs and drives good. Comes with a Mercury flathead that I had in it at one time.Mercury engine was removed because it started overheating. The current engine is the one that came in it when I bought it. I believe it to be the original engine. I put new rings in it several years ago. Engine runs cool when driving, but will heat up when idling after several minutes. It is a very nice car, but will need some work, depending on your needs.
