I'm DeWayne Watts of Livingston and I've written and published three novels.

Originally the final draft was 400 pages and named names. My editor was a former law enforcement in several departments and researched my book. He was able to prove everything and cautioned me that if I published it as it was, I could end up dead.

Together we edited many pages out of the book, then changed the names of towns and people. Lastly he had me combine some events, but keep them factual to help protect myself. He also had me remove a few names completely.

I opted to write the last few chapters as metaphor but with facts embedded.

This is the finished published product. The events in the book are fact, but the order, and names are altered.

This is not a pity-pot graphic story, but focuses on how I survived and my view of the world in the 1970's.
