We have several 7 month old Ossabaw Island gilts and barrows available, and piglets available to reserve when weaned. Boys are all cut.
These hogs are listed critical by the Livestock Conservancy and on Slowfood’s Ark of Taste as an amazing chef’s choice pork. We’ve found these small landrace hogs to be extremely easy to raise and handle, and perfect for a small homestead or for a gourmet wanting to grow their own. We’ve never used antibiotics and these animals are raised on our pesticide-free orchard with great forage and acorns. The older ones need a few more months of growing before processing. The biggest gain for us seems to be 7-11 months.
